Baker’s partnership includes nominating a local theater for sponsorship, spotlighting venues that embody the spirit of community-driven cinema. His first pick is Gardena Cinema, a historic single-screen theater in South Los Angeles. Built in 1946 and operated by the Kim family since 1976, Gardena Cinema is now managed by Judy Kim, who continues her family’s legacy after the passing of her mother, Nancy Soo Myoung Kim, in 2022.
