Last year Pluto TV started to roll out an app update that added a new home screen area that mixed both live and on-demand content. And Pluto TV has slowly been making big improvements to its app over the years.
Pluto TV has started to test a new version of its mini guide that lets you look at what is on other channels without backing out of your current channel and going back to the guide.
This new mini guide covers about one-fourth of the screen, letting you continue to watch what is currently on your TV screen. It allows you to quickly scroll through channels to see what is airing as you watch your current channel. This new guide is being tested right now with a handful of Pluto TV customers on Roku players and likely other streaming players. Sadly you can not ask to join this beta test group.
This feature will make channel surfing with Pluto TV far easier than it has ever been in the past.
Pluto TV is one of the oldest and largest 100% free ad-supported streaming services on the market. Pluto TV has also long been known as one of the leaders in developing new user features, and they are continuing to look at new ways to improve the app.
Note: Just because Pluto TV is testing this feature does not mean they will actually make it into a full release. Often, companies test new ideas but never roll them out to all customers.
