This week Pluto TV hired a new head of consumer marketing. Valerie Kaplan, who had previously worked for Hulu, HBO, and the Chernin Group, is now the new head of global consumer marketing for Pluto TV.
This comes from a report over at Variety that says Valarie Kaplan worked three years as VP of growth marketing at Hulu. Before that, she worked at HBO, working with their marketing department.
Pluto TV ended 2022 with 78.5 million monthly active users. That is a 6.5 million global monthly active users jump vs. the same period in 2021.
Currently, one of the fastest-growing parts of cord cutting is free ad-supported streaming. This has brought a growing number of competitors into the free ad-supported market.
