Earlier today Plex started to roll out an update to its app on iOS, Apple TV and Android TV that added new features to its OTA DVR. With Plex, you can turn any streaming media player that supports Plex like the Nvidia ShieldRokuFire TV, and more into a DVR. To make it work, you will need a new HDHomeRun or a USB tuner and a Plex server. Now Plex is improving its DVR on the Apple TV, iOS, and Android TV.

With this update, iOS and Apple TV users can now watch live TV and schedule recordings at the same time when using Plex as the DVR for your antenna. In the past, you had to stop watching live TV if you wanted to set up a DVR recording. With the Android TV, app update, Plex has added the ability to launch a channel just by pressing play on your remote when you hover over the channel you want.
