After a successful World Cup, Peacock is getting even deeper into soccer. NBCUniversal’s Telemundo has acquired the exclusive U.S. Spanish-language rights to all UEFA men’s club competitions, including the UEFA Champions League, for three seasons beginning with 2027-28. The deal covers Telemundo’s broadcast, cable, streaming, and digital platforms, including Peacock, Universo, and Telemundo Deportes Ahora.
The new agreement comes after NBCUniversal’s major World Cup run, which made Telemundo and Peacock a central part of its FIFA World Cup 2026 coverage. The streamer was home to all 104 World Cup matches in Spanish with interactive features like multiview, live stats, personalized match hubs, catch-up highlights, brackets, and trivia.
Under the new agreement, Telemundo says it will deliver live coverage of every UEFA Champions League season, supported by studio programming, expert analysis, original digital content, and extensive match-day coverage aimed at U.S. Hispanic audiences. Additional coverage details will be announced closer to the 2027/28 season.

The deal expands NBCU’s soccer portfolio, building on its record-breaking FIFA World Cup 2026 coverage and strengthening its position as the home of world-class soccer for U.S. Hispanic audiences. The UEFA Champions League joins an already crowded lineup that includes Premier League, Bundesliga, U.S. national teams, Liga MX clubs, and Olympic soccer.

Even though the rights announcement is for Telemundo, Peacock remains a key part of the distribution plan. The streamer gets exclusive Spanish rights to UEFA men’s club competition coverage, including the UEFA Europa League, UEFA Conference League, UEFA Super Cup and UEFA Youth League, strengthening it as a go-to soccer destination.

The latest deal comes at a time when the market for soccer rights is getting more expensive and more competitive. The success of this year’s international soccer showcase reportedly has NBCU executives already talking about future World Cup rights in both English and Spanish. Analysts believe the company is paying around $460 million under its current agreement, but future rights could be worth as much as three times more. If the media giant manages to acquire the rights for the 2030 event, Peacock would play a pivotal role in how millions watch soccer across their devices.
Until then, Peacock and Telemundo now have another path to keep soccer fans engaged season after season. Beginning next year, fans can stream some of the sport’s biggest stars and iconic clubs when the UEFA men’s club competition kicks off.
