Peacock Will Be Available on Roku ‘In the Coming Weeks’

After months of negotiations, and some last minute back and forth, Roku and NBCUniversal have come to an agreement for Peacock to be made available on Roku devices.

With the new deal, NBC content will be included on Roku’s free streaming service The Roku Channel. Financial terms of the agreement and details about the other hot button issue, ad inventory, were not disclosed.

We don’t yet have an exact date for when the app will be available for Roku users, but a Roku representative told us it would be “in the coming weeks.”

“We are pleased to have reached an agreement with Comcast that will bring Peacock to Roku customers and maintains access to NBCU’s TV Everywhere apps,” said a Roku spokesperson. “We look forward to offering these new options to consumers under an expanded, mutually beneficial relationship between our companies that includes adding NBC content to The Roku Channel and a meaningful partnership around advertising.”

A spokesperson for NBCUniversal said: “We are pleased Roku recognizes the value in making NBCUniversal’s incredible family of apps and programming, including Peacock, available to all of their users across the country. More than 15 million people signed up for Peacock since its national launch in July and we are thrilled millions more will now be able to access and enjoy Peacock along with other NBCUniversal apps on their favorite Roku devices. Roku’s incredible reach will not only help us ensure Peacock is available to our fans wherever they consume video but continue to expand NBCUniversal’s unrivaled digital presence across platforms.”

Peacock launched nationwide on July 15, without deals in place with Roku or Amazon.

Peacock has three subscription tiers: Premium Free (with ads), Peacock Premium for $4.99/month and Peacock Premium with no ads for $9.99/month.
