Madden fans everywhere can tune in to the first ever real life version of the pro football video game streaming live on Peacock. NBC Sports, the NFL, EA Sports and Genius Sports have partnered together to bring the Peacock-exclusive Madden NFL Cast when Houston Texans take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday, December 21 at 1:00 PM ET
The game was announced on Thanksgiving Day, and it will blend “video game elements and live action, the stream will be an immersive, data-powered live football experience that injects Madden NFL’s unique brand elements as animated overlays.”
NBC Sports will be rolling out an All-Madden caliber broadcast team for the game. Paul Burmeister will handle play-by-play duties with former NFL quarterback, YouTuber and Madden NFL expert Kurt Benkert serving as an analyst that wil discuss and predict play options. The duo will be joined in the booth by six-time Cincinnati Bengals Pro Bowl wide receiver Chad Ochocinco who will serve as a real-time player “ratings adjuster.” Lastly, pro Madden NFL player Henry Leverette, the 2024 Ultimate Madden Bowl champion who became the first player in the history of the Madden NFL Championship Series to reach $1 million in career earnings will round out the production team.
“The Madden game franchise has had an indelible impact on generations of football fans and gamers alike, and we look forward to honoring that legacy with this unique broadcast of a crucial matchup with postseason implications,” said Hans Schroeder, NFL Executive Vice President, Media Distribution.
The game will require exceptional visibility, so fans will have to hope for clear skies at Arrowhead Stadium. In addition to the special MaddenCast, fans can still watch the traditional NBC Sports broadcast of the game. With Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV and other compatible devices, viewers can stream the game on NBC with Peacock, DIRECTV STREAM, Fubo, Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, and YouTube TV.
“We are excited to work with the NFL, EA SPORTS, and Genius Sports to offer fans the ability to watch Madden NFL come to life like never before exclusively on Peacock, which has established itself as a home for premium live sports and innovative viewing experiences. This first-ever Madden NFL Cast marks a new milestone as Peacock’s first sports alt-cast,” said NBC Sports’ Executive Producer of NFL Fred Gaudelli, who was the lead producer for John Madden’s final seven seasons in the broadcast booth (2002-05 at ABC, 2006-08 at NBC).
