The 1996 U.S. Women’s National Team soccer tournament final was not fully televised at the time, so now Peacock is making it available in its entirety for the first time. The match began streaming today, on the 25th anniversary of the Atlanta Games, with The Sisters of ‘96: The 1996 USA Women’s Olympic Soccer Team, an hour-long special that reunites stars Brandi Chastain, Joy Fawcett, Julie Foudy, Kristine Lilly, Shannon MacMillan, Briana Scurry, and Tisha Venturini on the field where they played that inaugural Olympic final to watch the match together for the first time.

Now viewers can relive the groundbreaking summer Olympics from Atlanta ’96, and a new generation can be introduced to the legacy available in full for the first time.

This special comes just ahead of this summer’s Tokyo Olympics. On July 15th, Peacock launched its Tokyo Olympics destination where streamers will find live coverage of some events including gymnastics, track & field, and men’s basketball. The streaming service will also have daily live shows, original programming, replays and highlights, and more curated content. Olympics coverage will be free, with exception of USA Men’s Basketball live coverage that will be available to Peacock Premium subscribers.

The 2021 Olympics run Friday, July 24 through Sunday, August 8.
