Paramount Will Rebrand as Paramount Movie Network Ahead of Paramount+ Launch

Last week, ViacomCBS announced that CBS All Access will get a new look and more content when it rebrands as Paramount+ next year. Ahead of that change, the current Paramount Network will also be rebranded with the new name Paramount Movie Network.

According to a report from Variety, the change will take place globally within the next year.

Along with a new name, the content on Paramount will shift, with a focus on made for TV movies. ViacomCBS plans to release one original movie a week on the network, along with occasional miniseries and scripted series. The company will move unscripted series like “Bar Rescue” and “Lip Sync Battle” to other ViacomCBS-owned networks.

“We’re doubling down on scripted but diversifying with made for TV movies, mini-series and blockbuster series with movie stars like ‘Yellowstone,’” Chris McCarthy, president of entertainment and youth brands at ViacomCBS told Variety.

With a regular audience of 5-6 million, Yellowstone will remain an important part of the new content strategy at Paramount. The series has been renewed for a fourth season and will reportedly be aired “as a cinematic experience” each week with fewer ad breaks.
