Paramount+ to Stream “Hip Hop Was Born Here” Docuseries Co-Created By LL Cool J & Peyton Manning

Pro Football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee are bringing a new music docuseries to Paramount+. The duo has executive-produced and co-created Hip Hop Was Born Here, a five-part docuseries that covers the creation, evolution, and ongoing legacy of the genre and the culture that surrounds it.

Hip-Hop celebrates its 52nd birthday this summer, and the new docuseries airs on Tuesday, July 22 in the United States, Canada, Brazil, and Latin America. Globally, the series will premiere in the United Kingdom, Australia, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria on Wednesday, July 23.

The Paramount+ exclusive will feature interviews from legends and icons across multiple decades of the genre. Fans can tune in to watch guest appearances and interviews, including:

Across five immersive chapters, the Omaha Productions and Rock The Bells docuseries gives viewers an in-depth look into legendary studios, block parties, and other locations that have catapulted Hip Hop from neighborhoods in the South Bronx to the most popular music genre in the world.

Hip Hop Was Born Here is one of several new shows, movies, and originals coming to Paramount+ this summer. Later this month, the third season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds premieres on the platform. On Thursday, July 17, Paramount+ will take Trekies on a journey they’ve never been before in the newest season. Additionally, on July 11, Michael C. Hall makes his long-awaited return as Dexter Morgan in the SHOWTIME Original series, Dexter: Resurrection. Plus, this fall, the NCIS universe is expanding as fan-favorites Tony and Ziva are getting their own spin-off series.
