Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is boldly going into its fifth and final mission after it was confirmed that the Paramount+ series has been renewed for a fifth and concluding season consisting of six episodes, even before the upcoming third season has premiered.

Trek fans can anticipate a busy summer with the third season debuting with a two-episode premiere on Thursday, July 17, 2025, on Paramount+ in the U.S., with additional episodes rolling out weekly through to the season finale on Thursday, September 11, 2025. The fourth season is currently under production, and with news of the fifth and final season, viewers will be happy to know that the creative team can plan long-term character arcs and storybeats to tie everything together.

“From the very beginning, STRANGE NEW WORLDS set out to honor what STAR TREK has always stood for — boundless curiosity, hope and the belief that a better future is possible,” said executive producers Akiva Goldsman, Henry Alonso Myers and Alex Kurtzman in a statement. “We’re deeply grateful to Paramount+ for the chance to complete our five-season mission, just as we envisioned it, alongside our extraordinary cast and crew. And to the passionate fans who’ve boldly joined us on this journey — THANK YOU. With three more spectacular seasons ahead for you to see and enjoy, this adventure is far from over.”

Production on Season 5 is scheduled for later this year. The Star Trek franchise has brought viewers decades of quality entertainment. Earlier this year, Star Trek: Voyager celebrated 30 years since it first warped on our TV screens. Earlier this week, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier turned 36, which has been viewed as a polarizing legacy in the franchise’s history. The film wasn’t as successful as its predecessor but has since become a cult classic for many fans.

On Thursday, July 17, 2025, season 3 of Strange New Worlds streams on Paramount+, and you can try it for free at the link below.
