Paramount Deletes Almost All of Its Free Content on MTV, Comedy Central, & Other Network Websites to Promote Paramount+

Did you enjoy finding clips of “The Daily Show” and “South Park” each day on Comedy Central’s website? How about MTV News’s interviews and stories? Sadly, all that content is gone as Paramount is now asking people to log in with a cable TV provider or subscribe to Paramount+.

Paramount has deleted all content from the MTV News and CMT’s websites. First spotted by Variety, the removed content includes thousands of articles and interviews with MTV News going back to 1996.

Paramount is hoping people will subscribe to Paramount+ helping it grow and become profitable by the end of 2024.

Sadly, this is one more example of content suddenly vanishing behind paywalls or being deleted completely from a website.

One of the main factors forcing many sites to put content behind paywalls is weak ad revenue. Companies think offering free content on their website is not a profitable model.

So, if you enjoyed all the free content from Paramount and you want to continue to watch it, you will need to pay to enjoy your daily clips of “The Daily Show” and “South Park”.
