Beyoncé’s publicist shut down rumors that Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé would be coming to the Roku Channel.
“Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé is only playing in movie theaters worldwide. The comments that the film will play on Roku are categorically false,” Yvette Noel-Schure said in an Instagram post spotted earlier by Vulture.
Rumors that the documentary concert film would stream on Roku were fueled by social media users sharing photos of the unreleased film appearing on the platform.
X (formerly Twitter) user aliensgroove shared a screenshot of the film on Roku. In the image, it looked like users could save the title, but it was listed as Currently Unavailable. Aliensgroove also shared a link to the Roku page in the post’s comments.
When Cord Cutters News checked out the link at the time of publication, it did appear as if the film would be available on Roku.
Roku wasn’t immediately available for comment.
Noel-Schure said the movie would be in theaters until the end of the year and fans could get tickets online.
Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé documents the Grammy award-winning singer’s world tour from inception to opening and closing shows.
“It is about Beyoncé’s intention, hard work, involvement in every aspect of the production, her creative mind and purpose to create her legacy, and master her craft,” the film’s website says.
The movie saw a $21 million opening at the box office, and so far, has a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
