Nielsen’s Weekly Top Ten Marks Six Titles Breaking the 1 Billion Viewing Minutes Benchmark

Nielsen’s most recent streaming measurement chart shows Netflix’s Ozark remained at the top of the list in overall viewership, with 2.4 billion minutes watched across its 37 episodes for the week ending Feb. 6. That’s down from the 4 billion+ it clocked the previous week, though still an impressive number.

This was an explosive week all around with six streaming titles surpassing the 1 billion minute mark. Amazon’s new crime thriller series Reacher ranked in second place with over 1.8 billion minutes across its 8 episodes, followed by the one and only Encanto which has been placing high on the list all winter. The animated Disney film had 1.3 billion minutes of viewership, just above Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias.

Most of the top titles for the week were Originals, with other Netflix series like Raising Dion and Murderville making the list, as well as Hulu’s popular new release Pam & Tommy starring Lilly James and Sebastian Stan as the infamous 90’s “it” couple.

Netflix all but dominated the most-watched Acquired titles of the week, with staples like NCIS, CoComelon, Seinfeld and more, while Disney+ broke the streak with its animated series Bluey.

Netflix and Disney+ also proved to have the most popular Movie titles this time around, with sports comedy Home Team following Encanto‘s lead though only clocking less than half of the viewership minutes the Disney movie saw. The Tinder Swindler was still in the top titles, as well as both Despicable Me 1 and 2, and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

It seems Disney fans finally decided to “Let it Go” as Frozen failed to make the top ten this week.
