Cord cutters and football fans can count down the days when the 2025 NFL preseason begins. The league and its teams have announced their preseason schedule, with five games airing nationally across its media partners: ESPN, Prime Video, FOX, NBC (Peacock), and CBS (Paramount+).
Some fans will see a significant change in how they stream the NFL with two new streaming platforms joining Prime Video, Peacock, and Paramount+. FOX and ESPN are each scheduled to launch their respective direct-to-consumer apps ahead of the NFL season.
Although neither app has an exact launch date, each app will offer viewers another way to save money and watch outside of the conventional pay-TV bundle. Like the three other apps before them, the upcoming improved ESPN app and the FOX One streaming service offer an exciting way to watch this year’s preseason games without the hefty price tag.
The ESPN app brings all of ESPN in one place for only $29.99 per month. On Monday, August 18, the Cincinnati Bengals will visit the Washington Commanders live on ESPN. The upcoming app brings sports directly to fans, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNEWS, ESPN+, SEC Network, ACC Network and others. The enhanced app will spotlight several high-quality integrated features, including ESPN Bet sportsbook, fantasy sports leagues, e-commerce for tickets and merchandise, and statistic overlays. Additionally, you can unlock more Disney content by bundling it with Disney+ and Hulu.
Not to be outdone, on Sunday, August 17, FOX will air the Chicago Bears hosting the Buffalo Bills (the subject of this year’s Hard Knocks). The upcoming FOX One app is expected to have a monthly price tag of $25-30 and gives subscribers an affordable way to watch the company’s networks, including FOX Local Stations, FOX News, FOX Business, FOX Weather, FOX Sports, FS1, FS2, and Big Ten Network.
