NewsON is a free streaming service that gives users live and on-demand access to local news. Available on iOS, Android, and Roku you can access your local news when and how you want. When the news is live you will get a live feed, and if you miss it live NewsON will reair the last news broadcast any time you want.
Recently NewsON released a major update to the Roku Channel. The main change many users will find is a new user interface moving the menu from the left arrow key to the back button. It also gave the user interface a slightly new look.
The real changes come on the back end offering better streaming and improved performance overall. These back end changes give a new, far better image that you will notice.
There are also several other updates: new ads that seem to bring a more varied selection of content and the ability to learn more about what you are watching. If you are watching an on-demand version of the local news (aka not live) you will see the commercial breaks replaced with shorter ad breaks. No longer will you sit there with a we will be right back message on the screen.
NewsON has become a leader in local news streaming. Now with this new update it is continuing to improve the service making NewsON a must-have service for cord cutters.
