NewsNation will expand its weekend news lineup this month. The network is shuffling up its weekday schedule after new hires Hena Doba and Dee Dee Thomas.

The new weekend version of Morning in America, hosted by journalist Hena Doba, debuts on January 27. The show premieres on January 27 and will air on Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. ET.

On January 22, NewsNation’s new daytime lineup begins with a weekday edition of Morning in America hosted by anchor Markie Martin, which transitions the show into a three-hour program from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. ET, hosted by anchor Markie Martin.

After NewsNation Live with Marni Hughes at 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. ET, NewsNation Now with Nichole Berlie gets an extended three-hour slot from noon to 3:00 p.m. Elizabeth Vargas Reports moves to an earlier slot at 5:00 p.m., followed by The Hill with moderator Blake Burman at 6:00 p.m. ET.

Morning in America co-host Adrienne Bankert is NewsNation’s new Special Projects anchor. His new faith-based series, One Nation Under God, debuts in February.

NewsNation is building out news coverage and adding more shows as it works to become a 24/7 cable news network. The channel airs news coverage 24 hours a day on weekdays and eight hours on weekends. It fills the rest of the weekend slots with comedies, dramas, and films.

“We are excited to debut our new weekend morning show along with an enhanced daytime lineup to fill out our 24-hour/7 day-a-week schedule in 2024,” said Michael Corn, NewsNation’s president of news. “This programming is another big milestone for the network as we continue to build a best-in-class news organization.”

TODAY Show veteran Dee Dee Thomas also joins the network as executive producer of the weekend edition of Morning in America. Thomas and Doba both worked at Cheddar News. Thomas oversaw the channel’s Wrap Up news program and primetime specials, including Countdown to the Carpet and Farewell to the Force. Doba was the former host of Wake Up With Cheddar.

NewsNation is a Nexstar Media Group with a network of 5,500 journalists in 110 newsrooms throughout the country. The network reaches nearly 70 million U.S. households through major cable and satellite providers, YouTube TV, Hulu, DIRECTV STREAM, Fubo, Sling TV, and NewsNation’s website and app.
