Newsmax today announced that it will be launching a new dedicated streaming service called Newsmax+. This new service will replace the current Newsmax TV, which currently offers a free feed of Newsmax to anyone who wants to watch. Now, starting tomorrow, the free feed of Newsmax will go away as the live feed will now be behind the Newsmax+ paywall.

“Millions of Americans are tuning into Newsmax, and we want to give them even more content they can stream at home or on their phones,” Chris Ruddy, Newsmax CEO, said of the new launch. “Subscribers will get all the breaking news, expert analysis, and commentary from Newsmax’s renowned contributors and pundits that you can’t find anywhere else.”

Newsmax says they have to launch this new service because of “cable agreements.” Earlier this year, Newsmax went dark on DIRECTV, with its free stream being one of the reasons DIRECTV had to drop the network. Now it seems to help avoid similar issues Newsmax is ending its free stream.

There will still be a free feed of Newsmax, but it will no longer be the live main feed. Instead, they are launching Newsmax2, a second feed different from the main one for free streaming channels.

The new service will be available tomorrow, November 1st, 2023. You will be able to find it at NewsmaxPlus.com and on many streaming players, including Roku. The service will cost $4.99 a month or $49.99 if you prepay for a year.

Here is what Newsmax says will come with a subscription:

  • Documentaries on former President Donald Trump, Joe Biden’s presidency, faith in America, the rise of woke, and much more.
  • Programs on the founding of America, the Civil War, former Presidents Abraham Lincoln, George Washington and Ronald Reagan, and World War II.
  • Comedy documentaries with entertainment legends such as Bob Hope and Don Rickles.
  • Special briefings from top newsmakers in the worlds of politics, health, and finance.
