Remote controlA new streaming platform, created by US arthouse distributor Kino Lorber, has just launched.

Kino Now allows users to rent and buy films and will include films 30-90 days after being released in theaters. Most titles are under $9.99, including a section of titles for $1.99 and under. Some new releases and premium titles will be $14.99 or $19.99.

“We’ve been leaders in building a direct to consumer business with physical media and now is the time to assert our leadership in the direct to digital space,” said Richard Lorber, President & CEO of Kino Lorber. “Our superb library will be continually enhanced by the coming of newly acclaimed and award winning theatrical releases. We believe a younger generation of cinema lovers will embrace our collection as a kind of art house iTunes with Kino Now putting at their fingertips cinema masterworks of the past and the classics of tomorrow.”

Look through categories including New & Featured, Documentaries, Festival Hits, World Cinema, and Classics. The platform also includes themed curated collections, like the current Trick-or-Treat category which features arthouse horror movies and cult classics. Some currently available notable titles include The Chambermaid, Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story, Pasolini featuring Willem Dafoe, and Studio 54. Look for The Mountain, starring Tye Sheridan and Jeff Goldblum coming soon.

Along with individual films, Kino Now offers bundles for collections, along with hard to find titles.

The service will be available through the Kino Now website, as well as on Roku and is set to be available soon on AppleTV, Amazon Fire, and additional platforms.
