Netflix dominated the streaming space last month with more views on its series The Umbrella Academy than any title on any other streaming service. According to 7Park Data, almost 20% of people polled watched the superhero show in August making it the top viewed program that month. Season 2 of the series premiered on the streamer July 31.
Netflix also claimed the second-place spot on the list with Jamie Foxx’s Project Power which was streamed by just over 10% of viewers on the research panel. With almost a 10 digit difference between the two programs, Netflix still managed to claim the top two heavy hitters for August.

With that said, The Umbrella Acadamey’s 19.7% still falls significantly short of the success Disney+ saw in July with Hamilton. The critically acclaimed Broadway production held more than 31% of the total streaming views for the month. The next competitor in line, Netlifx’s Unsolved Mysteries, didn’t come close to reaching that number with just 13.7%.

With the top shows in August both coming from the same platform, Netflix topped the charts with the most time viewers spent watching a streaming service last month. 7Park collects data from a panel ranging from 15,000-25,000 U.S. Households watching on connected TVs and devices like Roku. Mobile devices are not included in the data.
