Netflix is giving us a treat by revealing viewership data on one of its new releases, something it rarely does. According to an Instagram post by the movie’s star Jake Gyllenhaal, The Guilty has reached 69 million households in its first 28 days on the service. What’s more, the thriller is currently No. 1 in 91 countries, confirming it as a global hit.

The movie was shot at the height of quarantine over the course of just 11 days. The storyline is perfect for a movie filmed under isolated circumstances as Gyllenhaal plays a dispatch officer with most of the dialogue taking place over the phone.

In the movie, Joe Baylor, a troubled police detective assigned to 911 operator duty scrambles to save a distressed caller who’s been kidnapped by her husband leaving her children in danger. The film takes place during one harrowing day of revelations — and reckonings.
