Netflix’s New Kids Show Set to The Music of The Beatles Starts Streaming

“Families around the world will come together with Beat Bugs, a new Netflix original series for kids inspired by the music of The Beatles. The animated original series follows five best friends who band together to discover life’s most important lessons in an overgrown suburban backyard that forms their entire universe.

Enjoy this behind the scenes look at the show, which features commentary from series creator Josh Wakely, and superstar cover artists James Corden (“I’m a Loser”), Jennifer Hudson (“I’ll Follow the Sun”) and James Bay (“Hey Bulldog”). All 13 episodes of Beat Bugs, Season 1 are now streaming on Netflix.

Beat Bugs incorporates more than 50 songs from the Lennon/McCartney ‘Northern Songs’ catalog and features covers by world-leading music artists, including P!nk, James Corden, Robbie Williams, Eddie Vedder, Frances, The Shins, The Lumineers and Sia. All 13 episodes of the show’s first season will be available on Netflix as of August 3rd, 12:01pm PT.”

Season One of Beat Bugs is highlighted by Pink’s version of “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds,” Robbie Williams with “Good Day Sunshine,” Eddie Vedder singing “Magical Mystery Tour,” The Lumineers doing “Honey Pie,” and The Shins with “The Word.” Among the singers and songs in season two are Rod Stewart with “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” Jennifer Hudson with “I’ll Follow the Sun,” Regina Spektor with “And Your Bird Can Sing,” Tori Kelly with “I’m Happy Just to Dance With You” and Of Monsters and Men with “Eleanor Rigby.” The Beat Bugs will also perform their own versions of various Beatles songs, including “Help!,” “Come Together,” “Penny Lane,” “Yellow Submarine,” “Strawberry Fields Forever,” “Hello Goodbye” and “Across the Universe.”
