Most Valuable Promotions and Netflix have pulled the plug on Jake Paul vs. Gervonta “Tank” Davis, the high-profile boxing event that had been scheduled for Friday, November 14, at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
Most Valuable Promotions, the promoter of the event, announced the match “will no longer be moving forward,” and said Jake Paul is still expected to headline a separate boxing event on Netflix in 2025. Details about the future date, opponent, and location will be shared when finalized.
The Netflix-streamed event had been positioned as an attention-grabbing crossover spectacle with marquee combat sports superstars on the card. Beyond Paul vs. Davis, the card included an undercard matchup that aimed to blend boxing and MMA star power. A trilogy-style clash between former UFC champions Anderson “The Spider” Silva and Chris “The All-American” Weidman was added to the card last month. All of those planned bouts are now in limbo along with the main event.
“Our team has worked closely with all parties to navigate this situation responsibly,” said Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of Most Valuable Promotions. “While we will not be moving forward with this event, our plan still remains for Jake Paul to headline an event on Netflix in 2025. Details regarding a new date, location, Jake’s opponent, and additional bouts will be shared as soon as they are finalized. We thank Netflix, the Kaseya Center, and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for their partnership.”
While the MVP didn’t list a single, specific reason in its announcement, the cancellation follows the filing of a civil lawsuit against Gervonta Davis, first reported by ESPN. Filed in Miami-Dade County, the suit alleges multiple domestic-violence-related counts, and those legal developments preceded Most Valuable Promotions’ decision to halt the November 14 card. MVP was made aware of the incident and released a statement on November 1, saying they “immediately initiated an investigation upon learning of the civil lawsuit.”
Now, with the cancellation of the fight, MVP says it will work with its partners to find an opponent for a Jake Paul boxing event in 2025, streaming globally on Netflix. The promotion said fans who bought tickets through Ticketmaster will receive automatic refunds to their original method of purchase within 14–21 days.
