Luke Cage will be the third of four series launched as part of the deal between Marvel Studios and Netflix.

In Marvel’s comics, Luke Cage is a former convict who was sent to prison after being framed for heroin possession by his former best friend. As he was locked up, Cage becomes the subject of super-soldier experiments that gift him with superhuman abilities. He then escapes back to New York City and restarts his life as a superhero for hire.

From Netflix:

After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive who attempts to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But soon he is pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.

Luke Cage will hit Netflix Friday, September 30.
