Netflix FamilyLove Disney movies and shows and have Netflix? You are about to get access to a ton of Disney content! Back in 2012 Netflix and Disney signed a deal to make Netflix “the exclusive United States subscription television service.” Yet there was a catch: none of this would happen until 2016, because Starz currently has an exclusive deal with Disney until the end of 2015.

The Netflix deal will include some of Disney’s straight-to-video new releases that started to appear in 2013 along with classic films like Dumbo, Pocahontas, and Alice in Wonderland that have been on Netflix on and off for some time now.

Starting in 2016 the best of Disney movies and TV shows along with new Disney movies will show up on Netflix. You can already see some of it happening as this year Netflix added a ton of Disney Junior and Disney Channel content.

With services like Hulu and Amazon fighting for content on Netflix, this deal with Disney—along with their original content like House of Cards and Orange Is the New Black—could help make Netflix a must-have service.

With the recent Netflix price increase scheduled to hit current users next year Netflix must be hoping the addition of Disney shows and movies will justify the $1 bump in price.
