Netflix and Amazon continued their dominance of the award shows with 15 Emmy wins this week. Netflix won 9 Emmys for shows like Master of None and Bloodline. Amazon took home 6 Emmys for shows like Mozart in the Jungle and Transparent.
Netflix Emmy Wins:
Bloodline – Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series Ben Mendellsohn
Masters of None – Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series Aziz Ansari & Alan Yang
Patton Oswalt: Talking of Clapping – Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special
Jessica Jones – Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music
Making a Murderer – Outstanding Documentary Or Nonfiction Series
Making a Murderer – Outstanding Directing For Nonfiction Programming
Making a Murderer – Outstanding Picture Editing For Nonfiction Programming
Making a Murderer – Outstanding Writing for Nonfiction Programming
What Happened, Miss Simone? – Outstanding Documentary Or Nonfiction Special
This brings Netflix total award wins to 90.
Netflix was nominated for 54 Emmys in 2016 up from just 34 in 2015. Only FX with 54 and HBO with 94 had more nominations than Netflix.
Notable Amazon Emmy Wins:
Transparent – Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series
Transparent – Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series
Mozart in the Jungle – Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series
Amazon also won two Emmys for The Man in the High Castle and one more for Transparent.
Amazon was nominated for 16 Emmys in 2016 vs just 12 in 2015.
