In a major move in the world of golf, the PGA of America extended its media relationships with NBC Sports/Peacock and Versant’s USA Sports through 2033.
The extension explicitly includes the 2033 Ryder Cup at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, plus the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, Senior PGA Championship, and PGA Professional Championship. Live event and studio coverage will continue to live across NBC and Peacock, and across USA Network and Golf Channel.
“USA Sports has a rich history with the PGA of America and the Ryder Cup, dating back to USA Network’s exclusive live coverage of the 1989 Ryder Cup at The Belfry,” said Matt Hong, President of USA Sports. “We’re proud to extend our partnership with the PGA of America and NBC Sports, continuing USA Network’s legacy with the Ryder Cup and showcasing the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, the Senior PGA Championship, and the PGA Professional Championship on Golf Channel to viewers across the United States.”
The renewal locks PGA of America’s biggest events deeper into their long-term homes, and strengthens the Peacock/NBC and USA Sports ecosystem at a moment when Versant has spun off from the NBCU umbrella. The PGA renewal comes after NBC Sports and USA Sports already landed the U.S. Open through 2032 when the USGA extended last August.
“Extending our partnership with NBC Sports and USA Sports through 2033 reflects the strength of our collaboration and our shared vision for the future of the game,” said Terry Clark, PGA of America CEO. “Together, we will deliver comprehensive coverage of the Ryder Cup, KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, Senior PGA Championship and PGA Professional Championship, presenting each at the highest level while elevating our major championships and marquee events as defining stages for the game, our partners and the communities we serve. We will continue showcasing the exceptional talent of PGA of America Golf Professionals and celebrating the very best in championship golf.”
For the PGA of America, locking in this new deal will keep deep production resources and marketing muscle for big team events like the Ryder Cup and studio coverage. Golf fans can watch their favorite players, major men’s and women’s championships, senior events, and marquee team competitions tee off over the next decade on their usual linear and streaming homes. You can stream PGA Tour events live on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, and other compatible devices on Peacock, DIRECTV, Sling TV, Hulu + Live TV, and YouTube TV.
