Have you been thinking about getting a new streaming player? A new survey of our readers shows that most cord cutters plan to buy a Roku in 2023.
Our survey of over 2,000 cord cutters, shows that 14.8% of cord cutters planned to buy a Roku in 2023. That compares to just 4.4% for the Amazon Fire TV and 3.6% for the Apple TV. (73.6% said they don’t plan to buy a new streaming player in 2023.)
This comes as over 70% of cord cutters say they already own a Roku. 36.6% of cord cutters say they own a Fire TV, and 20% said they use an Apple TV.
Roku, for years, has dominated cord cutting, and now it seems that has continued into 2023. The question now is what dose Apple and Amazon have to do to close this gap with cord cutters.
Roku’s domination doesn’t stop at streaming players. According to Roku 1 in 3 smart TVs sold in 2019 in the United States was a Roku TV.
