Most Americans Subscribe to Two or Fewer Streaming Services According to New Study

Today Limelight Networks released their report on the current state of online video. According to this study, most Americans subscribe to two or fewer services. This news comes as one of the main arguments against cord cutting is the need to subscribe to eight or more services to replace cable TV.

Thanks to this new study we now have one more example of how most cord cutters and Americans don’t subscribe to anywhere near eight streaming services.

According to the study, just 3.2% of Americans subscribe to five or more streaming services.

These numbers line up with what our own readers have told us. As you would expect cord cutters subscribe to more services, but the majority of cord cutters subscribe to three or fewer services.

With streaming services on average ranging in price from $3 to $11, you can see how many cord cutters can subscribe to four streaming services and still save money.

Again, this only counted paid services. Cord cutters can easily add a long list of free ad-supported services to get even more content than cable TV could ever offer.
