MLB Playoffs: How to Watch the Red Sox vs. Astros in the ALCS Without Cable

Baseball on the Infield Chalk Line

There are only two teams remaining in the American League that have a chance at winning the 117th edition of the World Series. The #2 Houston Astros will face the #4 Boston Red Sox in what is already being named as one of the most controversial American League Championship Series matchups of recent memory.

After a 2019 investigation into sign stealing by the Astros, the club has still remained as one of the premier teams in the American League. Since winning the 2017 World Series, the club has appeared in every ALCS since and is looking to make it back to the World Series for the first time since 2019.  After making quick work of the White Sox in the AL Division Series, the Astros are heading into the ALCS as favorites against the Red Sox. Astros manager Dusty Baker has won a Division title with five different teams but hasn’t won a World Series as a manager, with a win in the ALCS, he will be one step closer to adding another accolade to an accomplished career.

During the sign-stealing investigation, Red Sox manager Alex Cora, who was Houston’s bench coach during the time period that was being investigated, was deemed to be the mastermind behind the sign-stealing. Cora and the Red Sox parted ways after the results of the investigation, he served a one-year suspension and was rehired as Boston’s manager after the 2020 season. Now, he has the Red Sox playing some of their best baseball after defeating the defending AL Champion Tampa Bay Rays in the 3-1 in the ALDS.

Fans will be in attendance throughout the postseason; however, cord cutters can find out how to watch the ALCS without cable below.
