Weigel Broadcasting Co. and DIRECTV have finalized a multi-year carriage agreement to bring Weigel’s classic animation channel, MeTV Toons, to DIRECTV’s streaming and satellite platforms starting Monday, June 30. The channel will be available on channel 295 for DIRECTV customers subscribed to the Choice package and above, as well as within DIRECTV’s newly introduced genre packs. MeTV Toons joins other Weigel networks already carried by DIRECTV, including MeTV, Start TV, and Heroes & Icons, expanding the broadcaster’s footprint on the platform.
MeTV Toons, launched just a year ago, has quickly gained traction among viewers for its curated selection of classic animation. The channel offers a nostalgic lineup featuring some of the most iconic cartoons from Hollywood’s golden age to made-for-television favorites. Characters from Warner Bros. Discovery’s extensive library, such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Scooby-Doo, Tom and Jerry, George Jetson, Top Cat, Yogi Bear, Popeye, Johnny Quest, and Fred Flintstone, are prominently featured. In addition to Warner Bros. properties, MeTV Toons showcases other beloved characters like Woody Woodpecker, Casper, Betty Boop, Speed Racer, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, among others.
