Weigel Broadcasting, owners of MeTV, has filed for a trademark on Toon TV. It’s possible Weigel Broadcasting intends to create a new programming block or cartoon-focused TV network.

MeTV currently includes an anthology series called Toon in with Me. The show runs shorts from classic cartoons like Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry and Popeye. The trademark suggests MeTV wants to do even more with cartoon programming, although it’s unclear what form it will take, or if anything will materialize at all.

The trademark filing news was spotted earlier by Twitter user Jeffzwarren.

Cord Cutters News reached out to MeTV for comment and we’ll update when we hear back.
