Facebook has announced some new video features today as the social media platform continues to keep pace with competing platforms. Facebook has redesigned its look a bit for video content. A new suite of video and audio editing tools is being added to make content creation even easier.
Reels editing tools will be expanded to all Facebook video content creation for short videos as well as live and long videos. Reels debuted on Instagram as 15-second video clips which has since grown to 3-minute videos with an array of editing capabilities.
Meta has been integrating the feature on Facebook for some time now, encouraging users to cross-post on both platforms. Now comments from either social media app will merge together as well so both content creators and viewers will be able to comment across platforms without having to switch apps.
Facebook is also adding more editing features. As reported by TechCrunch, members will be able to adjust the speed of videos, reverse or replace a clip. HDR will now be supported for uploaded videos and playback.
Facebook is also making it easier to find and add audio tracks to videos. You can record your own voiceovers for videos while reducing background noise to add a more polished quality to your content.
The Facebook “Watch tab” will now be “Video” under which all video content can be found. You’ll find this in the same spot at the top of the app for Android users, the triangle within a rectangle icon next to the Home icon. iPhone users will find this tab at the bottom of the app screen. Under this tab, you’ll find video suggestions for you, live videos, gaming, and reels.
TechCrunch reports Meta Business Suite users have these new upgrades already. The new features are rolling out now to all other users for both the apps and the website.
