‘Loki’ had the Top Opening Weekend of Q2 So Far, Followed by ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’

Marvel’s Loki is a fan favorite for sure, cementing its place as the series with the biggest opening weekend of Q2 this year so far. According to data pulled from 2 million households by ReelGood, the Tom Hiddleston-starring MCU series held a 10.5% share of viewership across all releases this quarter. That’s more than double that of the next competing title, The Handmaid’s Tale. Season 4 of Hulu’s dystopian thriller had a 4.5% share on its opening weekend April 30.

Netflix’s Sweet Tooth came close behind with 4.2%, followed by HBO Max’s Original comedy Hacks with 3.4% on June 4. The streamer recently hit the greenlight on season 2 of the show before the first season even finished airing its last episodes. Hacks has been one of HBO Max’s best successes in terms of Original content since its debut, consistently ranking in the top ten most viewed titles out of all available content

Loki was also the most-watched MCU series premiere on Disney+ to date. The premiere was streamed by 890k households on its first day, beating out the previous record held by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (759k). WandaVision is in third place at 655k views on its first day. WandaVision held 9.3% overall share back in January as well as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’s 6% shares in March.
