LocalBTV is a live TV streaming service that focuses on streaming local TV. Launching back in 2017, first in the greater San Francisco area, it streamed 35 local channels for free on its app.
Now in 2023, it has slowly been expanding across the country, offering live feeds of local channels for free. LocalBTV has also expanded recently to now include 48 markets with local channels. Plus, national channels are streaming nationwide.
“We believe that antenna TV is fun and that everyone deserves access to local programming and seamless technology at an affordable cost,” said Jim Long, CEO of Didja when the service launched. “The most relevant programming to everyday Americans comes from live local broadcast TV stations, as they reflect the culture and diversity of their communities. In turn, we’re helping independent local broadcasters expand their reach into a wider market of households who haven’t been addressed before now. Eventually, we’ll also do the same for the big networks.”
Now LocalBTV is available on a growing number of devices and markets. This week the service added Samsung smart TVs to its list of supported devices.
