Local Now Tops 490 Free Live TV Channels & 20,000 On-Demand Titles Making it One of The Largest Free Streaming Services

Local Now streams a large collection of free live and on-demand content. Originally launched as a 24/7 local news and weather app, over the years, it has slowly added a huge catalog of movies and TV shows free with ads.

Recently Local Now topped 490 free live TV channels making it one of the largest free streaming services for cord cutters when looking at the number of free live channels. According to Local Now, on average a, viewers will see 492 with a mix of local and national channels, including PBS live in about half of all markets.

Local Now also provides localized news, weather, sports, traffic, and entertainment, produced by various leading news organizations in more than 225 markets across the U.S.

Local now also offers over 20,000 on demand titles with a great selection of movies and television shows.

Local Now is not done expanding as it recently announced a deal to add all local PBS stations. Currently these stations are live in about half of markets already with more on the way. No dates have been announced yet for when all of the local PBS stations will be added other than it should happen in 2023.
