Earlier today, the free ad-supported streaming Local Now added nine new channels, including the first PBS channel with the addition of PBS Nature.

Local Now streams a large collection of free live and on-demand content. Originally launched as a 24/7 local news and weather app, over the years, it has slowly added a huge catalog of movies and TV shows free with ads.

These new channels include:

Ch. 924 Inti Origin
Ch 1101 PBS Nature
Ch 1138 Travel and Food TV
Ch 1545 Manifest TV
Ch 2091 EX Plus
Ch 2092 Fuel TV
Ch 2093 Whacked out
Ch 2113 Outdoor Action TV
Ch 2211 Nolly Africa

“The addition of local PBS stations is a major achievement for Local Now and cements our position as the leader of free-streaming local news and entertainment in America,” said Byron Allen, Founder/Chairman/CEO of Allen Media Group, the parent company of Local Now told Deadline back when the deal was announced. “Viewers of all ages know and love PBS, and soon they will be able to stream this amazing content for free, anytime.”

PBS Local stations will start rolling out on Local Now over the next few months. It is hoped that Local Now will complete adding PBS stations in 2023.
