Paramount+ announced today that the second season of Landman has started filming in Texas.
Landman is set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas and is a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs. Based on the notable 11-part podcast “Boomtown” from Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly, the series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.
Billy Bob Thornton stars as crisis executive Tommy Norris. In Season One, Jon Hamm played oil tycoon Monty Miller, but will not be back for Season Two. However, Demi Moore is set to come back as his wife, Cami. Michelle Randolph, as Ainsley, and Ali Larter, as mom Angela, have been spotted around Fort Worth, filming college visit scenes.
The Taylor Sheridan series is ranked as a Top 10 SVOD Original Series, streaming on Paramount+, with 35 million global streaming viewers for the premiere episode.
Landman joins a slate of content from Sheridan, which also includes 1923, 1883, Lioness, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King and Lawmen: Bass Reeves.
