Johnny Hardwick, a voice actor best known for playing Dale Gribble on King of the Hill, was found dead in his home in Texas, according to TMZ.

Hardwick was a longtime standup comic but found success in television on the long-running animated comedy. He played Dale, bespeckled neighbor and friend to lead character Hank Hill, who was obsessed with conspiracies. He was 64.

Hulu had ordered a revival of King of the Hill, but no release date had been set. IMDB listed him as a cast member, but it’s unclear if did any voice work for the new episodes.

TMZ noted Hardwick would also do covers of songs using his Dale voice in videos on YouTube.

A spokesman for the Austin, Texas, police department wasn’t immediately available for comment.
