JOURNY, the free travel-discover channel powered by NextTrip, just made it significantly easier to access its travel programming. The company has launched dedicated JOURNY apps for Apple iOS, Roku, and Android devices, allowing viewers to stream its growing catalog of travel shows directly on phones, tablets, and connected TVs. These join the channel’s existing presence on FAST services like Plex, Sling, and Samsung Smart TV, meaning JOURNY is now accessible on a far broader range of devices.

The new apps go live after JOURNY’s roll-out of a Video-on-Demand (VOD) platform earlier this year, which made on-demand travel content available in addition to its existing 24/7 streaming channel. Now, JOURNY content is not limited to FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) platforms; you can stream it wherever you are, whether on a mobile device, tablet, or Roku-connected TV with a dedicated app for a smoother user experience.

Ian Sharpe, Chief Operating Officer of NextTrip Media, commented:

“JOURNY, like all modern brands, is strengthening its business by owning the connection with its customers. A mobile app is the highest form of owned channel: a permanent presence on the customer’s home screen, where no algorithm stands between us and our audience. Push notifications give us a direct, high-visibility line of communication, and the viewers who download our apps are typically our most valuable cohort, those with the highest engagement, the strongest intent, and the highest lifetime value.

“These new JOURNY apps give us a channel that strengthens our relationship with viewers and allows us to guide them seamlessly from inspiration to booking.”

This move strengthens JOURNY’s hybrid strategy of combining traditional linear streaming with on-demand flexibility. The dedicated apps remove extra steps, giving users direct access to JOURNY’s travel stories whenever and wherever they want. It’s especially useful for travelers or anyone seeking inspiration on the go.

No longer confined to just FAST-service menus or smart-TV guides, JOURNY is becoming a more user-friendly travel media destination for cord-cutters, mobile viewers, or those who prefer streaming on their own schedule.

“The JOURNY team is building something special, not just a channel but a true destination for travel storytelling. With our apps now live across Apple TV, Roku, iOS, and Android, JOURNY is in the hands of millions of new viewers worldwide. This completes the first stage of our multi-platform expansion and opens up new opportunities to connect viewers with destinations, brands, and real-world travel experiences through our ‘Watch. Scan. Book. Go.’ content-to-commerce model,” Sharpe said.

After being acquired by NextTrip in April 2025, JOURNY underwent a refresh with an expanded content slate and greater distribution reach across FAST platforms. With VOD now live, and dedicated apps rolling out, JOURNY appears to be turning into a fully integrated travel-media ecosystem that blends entertainment, inspiration and, through NextTrip’s business model, travel booking.

If you enjoy travel content, food, culture, adventure, and destination stories, JOURNY is now far easier to access than ever before. Whether you’re on your phone, tablet, or Roku, the channel’s travel programming is just a download away. And with both on-demand and continuous streaming options, JOURNY offers flexible ways to explore the world, from your couch or on the move.
