In a Huge Win For Cord Cutting, The Super Bowl Streamed Without Issues

Fans cheering

In the early days of cord cutting streaming, a major event like the Super Bowl would often mean significant and widespread glitches. In 2023 watching the super bowl went off without issues.

Not only did the FOX official stream, through the FOX Sports app, go off without an issue live TV streaming service also successfully streamed the game. DIRECTV STREAM, fuboTV, Hulu, Vidgo, YouTube TV, and more all streamed the game without issues.

The biggest complaint about streaming the super bowl was the delay which was as low as 24 seconds behind cable TV, according to Downdetector. Though if the delay is important to you, an antenna will show you the action before cable TV viewers will see it.

In our Cord Cutting Tech Support Group of over 83,000 members on Facebook, we received no complaints about streaming the big game

Increasingly streaming is becoming a very reliable way to watch what you want without the issues you may have seen even just one year ago. Increasingly streaming services have improved their quality as home internet has also improved.

We even recently learned that Comcast will start to offer cellular backups in its modems to make sure that your show will stream even if Comcast’s Xfinity internet goes out.

As over half of Americans no longer pay for cable TV, the ability to offer reliable access to major sporting events will be essential to attract the remaining 50% of Americans who have yet to cut the cord.
