This week UBS released an updated survey looking at the current state of TV and streaming. According to that survey of 2,000 Americans, Hulu with live TV was the most popular live TV service followed closely by YouTube TV.
According to the survey, 10% said they use Hulu with Live TV followed by YouTube TV right behind them at 9%. DIRECTV NOW was in 3rd place followed by Sling TV, PlayStation Vue, Philo, and fuboTV in that order.
These results are very similar to a recent survey from Tivo that said YouTube TV was the most popular. In the recent Tivo survey that asked the same question YouTube TV had 11.9%, followed by Hulu live at 6.9%, DIRECTV NOW at 6.3% PlayStation Vue at 4.4% and Sling TV at 3.2%.
Looking at these two surveys likely puts the differences as within the margin of error likely meaning the fight for the most popular live TV streaming service is still up for grabs.
These numbers are very similar to our recent survey of our readers. Here is the full breakdown of how our readers voted:
- YouTube TV: 23.2%
- DIRECTV NOW: 17.5%
- Sling TV: 15%
- PlayStation Vue: 14.6%
- Hulu: 14.2%
- Philo: 10.3%
- fuboTV: 1.6%
- AT&T Watch TV: 0.8%
- Other: 2.8%
