Tonight Hulu won their first Golden Globe for their original series, The Handmaid’s Tale. Not only did Hulu win one Golden Globe but Hulu nabbed a total of two awards at the 75th annual Golden Globe Awards.
The Handmaid’s Tale won the Golden Globe Awards for:
- Best Television Series – Drama
- Best Performance by an Actress In Television Drama – Elisabeth Moss
Hulu’s Golden Globe Award wins mark the first time a streaming service has ever taken home both the Golden Globe and Emmy® Awards in the drama series category. The awards also mark the first time in over five years that a series has taken home both the Golden Globe and Emmy Award for Best Drama Series in its debut season.
“Hulu is honored and grateful to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for recognizing the talented people, both behind and in front of the camera, who made The Handmaid’s Tale such an extraordinary series,” said Hulu CEO Randy Freer. “We congratulate MGM, Bruce Miller, Elisabeth Moss, Warren Littlefield, and the rest of The Handmaid’s Tale cast and crew who had the foresight and dedication to bring Margaret Atwood’s powerful story to life.”
The second season of The Handmaid’s Tale is set to premiere on Hulu in April 2018.
