Hulu is celebrating the holiday season with a party – a Watch Party, now available to all subscribers, including those with Hulu with Limited Commercials or Hulu (No Ads) plans. With Watch Party, Hulu subscribers can create parties of up to 8 viewers to watch thousands of shows and movies together this holiday season.
“With many families practicing social distancing this year, it’s more important than ever to find new ways to connect with friends and family this holiday season,” Hulu shared in an announcement. “Hulu is here to help by offering our viewers the opportunity to enjoy a shared entertainment experience with their loved ones from afar.”
The expansion of the feature follows a weekend with a record number of subscribers joining watch parties, up 97%, with many settling in to watch the Hulu Original Happiest Season with friends and family.
To host a Watch Party, go to a show’s details page and click on the Watch Party icon. Copy the link to the Watch Party and share it with family and friends to invite them. Each person in the party can control their own content without disrupting the viewing for the rest of the group, so go ahead pause if you need to grab a snack or use the bathroom. You can rejoin by hitting a “Click to Catch Up” button when you’re ready to jump back in.
