For the first time, Hulu has passed Amazon Prime Video to take the number 3 spot on the list of most popular channels on Roku.

Rich Greenfield was the first to share the update on Twitter:

Netflix remains in the number one spot and YouTube remains in the second spot.

Why the change? There are a few reasons why Roku users might be choosing Hulu. First, the streaming service offers a live TV option. In fact, some analysts are saying that Hulu with Live will become the largest live streaming service by the end of this year.

Hulu also has the advantage of airing some of the most popular streaming originals. Handmaid’s Tale is a fan favorite with a potential new series in development, Castle Rock is coming back for Season 2, and The Act was one of the most talked about series of the year.

Finally, with all of the excitement about Disney+, it’s possible that users are choosing to subscribe to Hulu to take advantage of the bundle deal with Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN+ or the option for adding Disney+ as a Hulu add-on.
