Today Hulu announced that they have added 60 fps support to 33 new channels. Now almost all of Hulu’s channels offer 60 fps support making Hulu one of the first services to offer 60 fps across most of their channels.

So what is FPS? Well, frames per second (FPS) tells you how many times the image on your screen is refreshed every second. The more frames, the smoother the image looks. For a scripted drama 30fps will look great; however, for faster action such as sports, many want 60fps to help the action look smooth on the screen.

Here are all the new channels that now have 60 FPS support on Hulu:

  • All ABC affiliates
  • Disney Channel
  • Disney Junior
  • Disney XD
  • All ESPN channels
  • All remaining FOX affiliates
  • Freeform
  • SEC Network
  • Telemundo (national network)
  • Universal Kids (West)

Hulu said that all of our channels have now been upgraded to 60 FPS with the exception of CBS affiliates. 60 FPS support is now available on the Fire TV devices except Cube, 1st generation stick, and Toshiba 4K Fire TV Edition.  Hulu says the remaining channels and devices will receive 60 FPS over the coming months.
