Hulu Adds Sinclair Owned Local ABC Affiliates After Month-Long Standoff

For over a month now, Sinclair-owned ABC affiliates have been dark on Hulu. Tonight Hulu has started to add back ABC affiliates that are owned by Sinclair.

Both sides have not officially commented on the terms of the deal, but ABC affiliates are now back on Hulu. This news comes as blackouts have become more common both on cable TV and streaming services over the last few months.

Update: Sinclair has confirmed to Cord Cutters News that a deal has been reached. “We are pleased to have reached an agreement in principle with Hulu, which has our ABC stations returning to Hulu.” Scinalir said in a statement sent to Cord Cutters News.

Recently Fubo lost over a hundred CBS affiliates after its deal with Paramount was not approved by many locals. Now all of the missing CBS affiliates are back on Fubo.

This news comes as Hulu has recently rolled out a new user interface. Now when you open Hulu on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, and more, you get this message “over the next few weeks, Hulu’s navigation menu will move to the left side of the screen on living room devices. Press “back” to open the menu for easy access to TV, Movies, My Stuff, and more.

At this time, the new user interface should be live on most streaming players and smart TVs.
