Hulu Adds Local MyNetworkTV Channels to Their Lineup

Hulu’s live TV beta has once again been quietly adding more local channels. Just today we learned that Hulu has added more FOX owned states. Now we learn that they have also quietly added MyNetworkTV from Sinclair. We have confirmed that in Birmingham, Alabama the new MyNetworkTV now shows up in the Hulu app.

MyNetworkTV, also known as MyTV, is owned by 21st Century Fox and was created after the UPN shut down and was replaced by the CW. It’s currently available in over 200 affiliates across the United States. Typically you can find it as a sub channel on many local FOX affiliates across the United States but is also a main channel in many markets.

Sinclair owns about 26 MyNetworkTV affiliates in the United states. After their merger with Tribune finishes they will add 3 more MyNetworkTV affiliates to that list. This will push Hulu’s live TV beta service local very close to the number PlayStation Vue currently offers if all of them come to Hulu’s live TV beta.

Hopefully Hulu will continue to roll-out new local channels. The lineup is made of a mixture of FOX-owned shows such as The X-Files and syndicated shows such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. MyNetworkTV brings a wide range of shows and movies to markets across the United States. Currently only DIRECTV NOW and Hulu offer MyNetworkTV streaming online.
