Hulu Adds Google Home Support & Google Voice Commands

Last night, Hulu added support for voice commands with Google devices, including Chromecast and Google Home speakers like the Google Nest.

With this update, Hulu users can now access and control the content on Google devices with voice commands. Hulu is joining the list of Google content partners which also includes Netflix, CBS All Access, Crackle, Starz, and more. (You can find the full list on this Google support page.)

For now, Hulu only supports on-demand with the Google Nest smart speaker and display. Hopefully, live TV support will be added soon but as of today, only Hulu’s on-demand service is supported. You can learn about all of Hulu’s supported devices here.

To get started, use the Google Home app. Choose Settings then TV & Video, and look for Link next to the Hulu icon that will be available soon. The app will walk you through the process of getting set up and connecting Hulu to your Google Home devices and Chromecast.
