Live from the UFC Apex near Las Vegas, Nevada, UFC Fight Night: Makachev vs. Green is a packed card featuring 11 bouts inside of the Octagon. A catchweight bout at 160 pounds between Islam Makhachev and Bobby ‘King’ Green will headline the event.

Originally, Makhachev was scheduled to fight Beneil Dariush in a lightweight bout, but Dariush had to pull out of the fight due to an ankle injury. At 21-1, Makhachev is the #4 ranked UFC lightweight and is on a 9-fight win streak. Fighting out of Dagestan, Russia, Makhachev was one of the promotion’s breakout stars of 2020 and a Sambo World Champion. At UFC 267, Makhachev scored a first-round submission win over Dan Hooker, which was the third win by submission in as many fights.

Due to Dariush pulling out, Green is taking the fight on 10-days notice. Green has an accomplished MMA career: 2-time King of the Cage champion (lightweight and junior welterweight), UFC Submission of the Night winner, 3-time UFC Fight of the Night winner, and a UFC Performance of the Night winner.
